Default How do I copy confirguration from one blackberry to another? - 02-18-2008, 04:53 AM

I have a Curve 8310 as does my colleague. I can't get GPRS apps working but he can. He has different software on his phone & his is non T-Mobile branded. I already changed the TCP settings but that didn't work.

How can I copy his software/profile & install it on mine? Is it a simple case of making a backup using desktop manager & restoring it on my phone or is it more complicated than that?

Any help is much appreciated as I really am tearing my hair out here getting this blasted thing to work :(

Ask your carrier to enable internet browsing on your device. Otherwise no software that connects to the internet will work.

At DM you can chose what to take backup of. Do a selective backup of what you want.

But I believe your kinda starting to troubleshoot in the wrong end.

You should try resending your servicebook from the BIS site (carrier.blackberry.com).
If your going to use TCP traffic be sure to set the correct APN settings at Options -> advanced -> TCP.
These are carrier specific.
If your colleague have a different carrier you don't want his servicebooks. Also if you copy them you will get all of his servicebooks including BIS setup and email. And they won't work for you.
So the best thing to do is resend servicebooks from the BIS site.

If you describe your problem a bit better we should be able to get you up and runnig .. there are many knowledge rich people here with the willing to help out others
