I know it depends on size of the emails, attachments, free space on device, etc... But does anyone have a General idea on how many emails/texts can be held on the Curve before the memory gets full?

I have over 10,000 on mine. I wouldn't sweat it. Depends on how large they are but it wont be an issue.

Enjoy!

I don't think there's ever a safe answer or a number. 2000? No.

up to the limit of the free space on the device. really depends, if you have lots of apps installed, lots of themes, pictures on the device, you may not get 1000, if you run a lean device with nothing on it, you may get 10s of thousands.

Highlight the date and press the menu key and press delete prior. Or hold down the shift key and highlight the messages and then delete.

If you would like to delete everything, press T and it should bring you up on top of the heap and then do "delete prior" there as zerog46 suggested.

I was under the impression that my device would be able to store a large number of messages however, the max number of SMS messages that my device allows me to store is 50. (That's what it shows under the SMS options). How would I be able to store more?

This could not be more incorrect. Are you sure you have a BlackBerry, and not a freebie LG phone?

What that poster is likely seeing under SMS option is the SMS History (Number of Previous Items) which is the number of messages in the current "conversation" (ie from a particular recipient/sender) that will show up when viewing an SMS message.

yes. he's checking options --> SMS, and changing "number of previous items" to 50. that means it'll show up to 50 SMS messages between you and that person that sent the message. kind of works like an IM conversation.

to answer the original question, you wont have to worry about the # of SMS messages on your phone. I have 4,465 SMS messages, and that only takes up 1450.4 kb of data (40 mb free).
