I have a user that has photos on the device memory. I have since changed the default location for photos from device memory to the mass storage device, but I can't seem to retrieve the photos from the device memory.

Is there a trick to this? Should I change back the setting to device memory and see if the media manager picks it up and then transfer it then?

If anyone has any insight to this, it would be very much appreciated.

I am not sure as to how IF you have the device locked to Mass Storage, but normally I would go the Media application, find the picture, and without opening it, press menu to select MOVE, and navigate to the the Media Card.

Can you view pictures that way currently in the device memory?

If you use the Media Manager when you attach the BB to th PC you should be able to point it to the device memory to retrieve the pictures.

When I bring up Media Manager, the only files I can see under "My Devices" are the files on the media card. I don't have any trouble moving those files to my laptop. How do I get the Media Manager to show the files in the Device Memory so I can move them to the laptop?

If there aren't a ton and you can find no other way - email them to yourself. :D

Interestingly, I have exactly the opposite problem. I have also enabled Mass Storage, but when I open media manager I can still only see the pictures on the device memory. There is no option to open the SD memory.

Also, if I try to access the pictures from "My Computer" or Windows Explorer, the device does not show up there either. I can only view the SD stored pictures by opening media on the device, with the device disconnected from the laptop. This is worthless!!!

So how do you enable the mass storage card, I know theres a way and i also know its not that difficult but just need some reminding.

Go to Options > Media Card > Media Card Support > On
and then Mass Storage Mode Support > On
and then Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected > (set to Yes or Prompt)
