I installed this update about a week ago. I waited to post because I wanted to see if I would have any problems with the update. Everything went great and the install went well. I may be wrong but it appears to me that everything runs a little cleaner for me. My Blackberry used to hang sometimes thinking away with that annoying little hourglass and that seems not to happen anymore. Thanks for the heads up on the updates os.

Does anyone know if the 8310 can handle Chinese? Can it read and allow me to write chinese characters? If so, can you direct me where to go?
Sorry these forums are a little confusing, i'm just trying to navigate my way around and make sure that the 8310 can handle Chinese before i go and buy one.

Thank you for your help

Yes, it can handle Chinese. You need to find an OS that has Chinese Language support included. Search trough the Asian carriers in this list and see if you can find one.

Could someone please help me out here? I download the updated OS and install it... but when i reconnect the bb and run dm, there is no prompt to upgrade. If i go to app loader the OS does not show there... BTW - i did delete the vendor.xml file

Make sure you delete the vendor.xml file before you hook the USB to the BB.

Welcome to the BBF!

I am not sure what 'Bluetooth Spyware" of which you speak, but I don't know of any spyware that works on a BB. So, it is unlikely.

Default various bug in this firmware - 04-24-2008, 04:36 PM

I've installed this firmware about 1 month ago.

1.The blackberry hang up randomly and need to remove the battery to restart.
2.About 1 day on 5 gprs is down. You need to remove battery and restart.
3.when you dial a fixed number beside a pabx in some case you doesn't ear the tone line (other firmware phone, with the same number work!)

for italy, i don't suggest to upgrade

In Italy we are GMT +1
