Default New to Curve...Questions

Please Login to Remove!

I got a new Curve yesterday, and I love it! I had a Pearl, then a Treo, then came back to BB and upgraded to the Curve. However, I do have a couple of questions...

My biggest issue is with the calendar. In the desktop manager it's only giving me an option of syncing with Yahoo Calendar (which is horrible and sucks) or ASCII import/export. I use Windows Mail/Calendar/Address Book, and yahoo will only let me import a .csv file. Windows mail exports to a different file, and even when I try to convert it to .csv, it won't import to yahoo. I've tried everything I can think of to figure out a way to import into Yahoo, but nothing is working. I know Yahoo has an autosync feature, but it doesn't run on Vista which is what my laptop uses. Has anyone else run into this problem?

My other question is on the GPS. I have AT&T and have the BB Unlimited Data plan, but I haven't been able to get a straight answer on whether or not I need an additonal plan for the GPS. Does that fall under unlimited data since it's a 3rd party app, not an AT&T app?

Thanks guys! I'm having a blast checking out the forums and getting great tips and ideas for my Curve, which is definitely the coolest phone ever!

TeleNav has an access fee of $10 per month. it is billed by ATT but goes to TeleNav. your unlimited data plan however, will cover many other GPS applications, and the data used by that GPS application. as to the calendar not syncing, try coupling windows mail with outlook. outlook syncs natively with the BB through Desktop Manager with no conversions needed

Wirelessly posted

Forget TeleNav get BB maps or Google maps.
Even if you have ATT it will work and it is free
I have been using the BB maps and it serves me fine.
I also use TomTom one XLs so BB is not my primary GPS system

That is the problem, I don't have Outlook. Vista doesn't come with Outlook, or Outlook Express, all it has is Windows Mail. :( I've been searching and still can't find anything that will get my Windows Mail and Yahoo Mail or Windows Mail direct to BB, so I still have no calendar on my BB

Below is a list of the supported organizers for Desktop Manager v4.3. You will need to use one of the following in order to get the calendar. Without one of these you won't be able to do it.

The following organizers are supported for use with Intellisync:
xxx8226; Lotus Notes 6, 6.5, 7
xxx8226; MS Outlook 2002, 2003, 2007
xxx8226; MS Outlook Express 6, Windows Contacts (Vista Address Book) (contacts only, no calendar)
xxx8226; Novell GroupWise 6.5, 7
xxx8226; Yahoo!
