when i get home can i use the backup on the 8300 to transfer all to the 8310? what about the operating system?

with jivetalk I just have to transfer the license right? and all my other stuff (viigo, beyond 411, cb shortcut, opera mini) should transfer over because of the back up right???

Yes, you can restore a backup from the 8300, but not the OS--the OS is model specific.
You can use the Switch Device Wizard if you still have the old device, very easy.
If you have the JiveTalk personal license, you can transfer the license to the new PIN#.
Good luck.

You don't need to ANYthing to the OS. If your BlackBerry is working well, with NO bugs or issues, leave it as it is.
