Is it common at all for blackberry screens to crack in-pocket? I put my 8310 in my pocket and got in a car and when I got out it rang and there was a huge crack on the screen. I don't remember anything hitting it in the car, so I'm not sure how it happened. It was in a gel case but not in it's leather case. I called AT&T and they offered to sell me a new 8310 for $100, with a renewed contract. The trackball had stopped working on my other one so I sent it in. I had only had the new blackberry for about 7 or 8 days before the screen cracked. I got something called invisibleshield (the full body kit, and it came a few days after the screen broke. Might it help to protect the screen from cracking on the new one? I know it's the best phone I can get for $100 but it would be a bummer if my new one cracked too. Any input?
I was just reading the forums and came across a site that will replace it. The lens has the main scratch but the LCD has a little dent. It doesn't appear to be bleeding, and it's been a week today since it happened. My main concern is that it doesn't break in my pocket again. I've read a lot of accounts of screens breaking on here but usually it is from drops/bumps/etc Has anyone heard of, or had it happen to them, that the screen breaks in their pocket?
My blackberry curve has a crack in the screen right next to where you plug it in to recharge, it happened overnite. Its only 4 mo old, could this be an overheating problem? Its the lens not the lcd.
