Clear ESN? Also posted at howard forums. Need to clear this up before i bid. The seller has yet to answer so im coming to the expert lol. Im thinking of buying a curve from a ebay seller. He provided the ESN number so bidders can check if its clear or not. It seems like the ATT chat room is closed so i was wondering is this clear? Thanks ESN 240A54F4. also. Is there a wiki page for the curve where i can get all the information i need to get started? This is the first time buying a blackberry with the blackberry plan so im clueless on everything. Thanks in advance! |
ATT doesn't use esn uses IMEI Is that the PIN number? Check out the FAQ here all answers can be found there if not ask here |

oh yea, and a question would be. If i put the Blackberry data plan on my service plan, do i just need to pop in my sim card in my blackberry and should everything automatically be set up? like internet and such? Also, if i swap the sim card to another phone in the future will it still be able to use internet even though its the Blackberry Internet Plan? |
Wirelessly posted (8700g) Under the best circumstances, the data services will be provisioned when you turn it on and it boots up, if the data plan has been activated. Otherwise, see the blackberryfaq (link at top of forum) re sending service books. |
thanks. what do you mean the data will be provisioned?? I have everything ready. im using a razr right now and im going to remove my media max plan and add in the blackberry plan. I also checked out the FAQ so i could learn how to send the service books. But what would happen if i put my sim card from the blackberry to the razr. would internet still work? |
Wirelessly posted (mindlessly posted) No internet would not work in the razr Provisioning is basically your acct being set-up properly to use the feature |
To really ensure the set up is done correctly, you should call the carrier and speak to them directly. I think you need to give ATT the IMEI and the PIN to get things set up properly. As for the ESN, I think CDMA phones use ESN, therefore it will not work on ATT. GSM phones such as ATT use IMEI. |

Same as above. I had an issue with an Ebay 8830 and had to conference call between seller, VZW and me to clear it up. 8830 arrived and it was still Active! |
