Does anyone know if I can use my 8320 to make calls using VOIP (skype). I can connect to the internet using wifi but can i download the skype software and use it on my BB?

There is no Skype program to use with blackberry. UMA and hot spot at home by Tmobile is the equivalent.

There is no Skype download, but there are Skype compatible programs. IM+ for Skype is one. Costs money to buy, but there's a trial. I think there are others as well. Do a search and some more should come up.

Sorry for asking, but why would you want to do that? UMA works great with T-Mobile. You have two options when it comes to using UMA with T-Mobile.

1. subcribe to Hotspot@home aka "talk forever" and have unlimited talktime over UMA for 9.99 a month.

2. not subscribe to Hotspot@home and still have UMA, but deduct from your alloted anytime minutes. (not counting myFaves, N/W, or Mobile2Mobile) which is already unlimited.

One of the advantages of Skype is being able to call someone else in another country for free or a cheap rate.

I've used the IM+ for skype and it works but not the same as using your computer. You need a callback number which is fine if you're calling from your home country but not good if you travel overseas. They give you a week free trial to check it out. For traveling outside the USA, the UMA works great for calls back to the states....
