I have a BB 8310 curve. Anyhow, I do have a few things installed like all the Googe aps, a game, a few themes and whatnot. Some other widgets as well. According to the info supplied under status in the options area it says I only have almost 2mb's left. Guess the start in terms of mb's is 54mb's, true? Is there a way to see what is taking so much space? Whether app. or whatnot?

I do have a 2gig card in my BB so I was wondering if I can move items over there or run items off of there for additional room? Is it just for storage?

What about my SIM? Is there anyway to see what is on there versus the actually phone? What should be on there?

I haven't had my BB very long, so it doesn't seem I should be out of space. Bought a game, but cannot install it because I get a 901 error stating not enough space. Seems to soon for that!

I thought I had seen somewhere about removing some items that were preloaded like 'Push to Talk'. How do I go about that as I do not see those kinds of stuff when using BB Manager. I only see apps. and all that I installed there. What all can or should I remove that was preloaded?

Any other suggestions and whatnot? Thanks much for any help and all you can provide!

Oh, I was also wondering if someone can add info on how to properly use an expansion card in these things? I mean, if I have excel docs or pdf's, can I just move them over via the phone as a mass media device or what? Anything I should be warned of and whatnot? Any input is great!~

For some reason, I cannot click that link. Can't someone just lay out some simple answers please? I have looked at this link:

Problem is, I would like to try and free up some memory without having to redo my entire BB.

Would be much appreciated if someone could assist with this!

Also, should I move my address book and maybe other items over to my 2gig card? Thanks much. Please help!!

Thanks for the two links so far....but what about my other questions please!?

Sith_Apprentice 04-29-2008 12:18 AM

the SIM you can go to your phonebook and hit menu > sim phone book to see all the entries there. Apps cannot be installed to expandable media, only internal memory. You can put all you media files on the memory card though, it will keep your internal memory mostly free. docs xls pdf ppt etc can be stored on the card and you can use E-office by Dynoplex to view/edit them, and BeamBerry if you want to view.

So how much room does a 8310 start with? How would I have run out so quick? I did all of the things in Sith's one post and really, there wasn't much freed up.

Also, what about my second post in this thread regarding the expansion card? I seem to have difficulty with it!

And also, I went into removing applications, but I do not see items like push to talk and the like which I understand most people remove.

And lastly, when I press the 'send' button, I was getting a list of recent calls, etc... but now that keeps disappearing. Is this the same as my call log? Why is it disappearing as it never was before? Does this have something to do with my spacing?

Thanks much!

Sith_Apprentice 04-29-2008 12:35 AM

yes that is your call log. please go into options > status and post your file free. then do a battery pull (with the device ON remove the battery, then put it back in after 30 seconds). Then go back into options > status and post your file free.

Forgot to post about the beore size, but this did clear up about 2-3 mb's. Shows now that I have almost 5 mb's of free space. Guess overall, I get 54 mb's in my BB?

What about my other questions though please??

Thanks much!

Will try again...can someone please assist with my other questions please?

Thanks for the help already given!
