can i use a downloaded ringtone specific to a contact for that contacts emails and text messages as well for phone calls? can't seem to figure out how to set it.

the faq says " Go to Profiles on your BlackBerry and create a new custom profile, naming it the name of your targeted sender"

when i originally created the contact for the person i want (in the address book) i chose a custom ringtone so there is an exception for that person already existing - do i create a new one anyway under profiles?

That is correct. You need to create a new profile for the contact.
