Default BB Curve 8310 move from ATT to TMo - 04-28-2008, 04:58 PM

I have just switched from ATT to Tmo with a new phone. How can I move my BB Curve 8310 to Tmo and load the software used on the Tmo network? Will the 8320 application software work on the 8310 with Tmo?

Welcome to BB Forums.
You need to have the 8310 "unlocked" to work on T-Mobile.
You do NOT need to load any new software (and 8320 software won't load on an 8310 anyway).

Main Page - BlackBerryFAQ is a great source of information, including this page - How do I unlock my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ

Good luck.

welcome to blackberryforums, somfCimm.

you will have to download and use the software made for the 8310 if you want to do have it for reloads etc...

get it here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...E4F82F9F00E7D4

also, you will have to get the device "unlocked" if you haven't already done so. Everything else should work fine with T-Mobile service.

When you turn on your phone, does it return the favor? Welcome to BlackBerry!

An 8320 on AT&T can use WiFi for web browsing, etc... but not UMA for phone calls.

Also, please be careful about hijacking someone else's thread. Since the OP has an 8310 and this discussion was about an 8310... it's easy to confuse the topic by popping in questions about the 8320.

No but you don't need the 8320 or any TMO OS on your BB. The service books are what set up your BB for your carrier and they will be pushed automatically to the BB.

Make sure your at&t BIS account was deleted. They don't do this automatically when you close your wireless account. You won't be able to use the TMO BIS until this is done.

I wasn't sure if I should start a new thread to ask my question or to just ask it here. At any rate, thank you for the help.
