Default Install REM files?

Please Login to Remove!

Cannot seem to find out or figuring out how to get these REM files back on my BB. These were ringtones I had on my last 8310 that when I did my backup before exchanging my phone, I had saved. Can anyone assist with this please?

Thanks much!

REM files?

If you did a complete backup, find it and restore RMS database.

Sounds like you enabled content protection on your memory card. The REM files indicate that they are encrypted. You will not beable to access the files unless you decrypt them first. You will need your old BlackBerry to do that. If you wiped or reloaded the device your out of luck.

Default help!

So I have an At&t 8310 pearl. The device was not working properly so I removed my 2gig memory card backed up the device and then wiped the handheld. The device was still not working properly so I restored the device and put the memory card back in. Now all the files are named *.jpg.rem.

How can I get these files back?

I cannot view them either on my computer or on my blackberry. Please help!

Those files are encrypted, since you had encryption enabled on your Media Card.

I believe IF you turn off encryption on the card, you might be able to view them. However, since you wiped and reloaded the OS, they could be encrypted under the old OS and may not be usable now.

I believe they were encypted under the old OS. Isn't there anyway to restore these files? There are like 75 pictures on there that are really important to me.

Please let me know.

I will be more than happy to try anything. But I have already turned encryption off and they are still encrypted. Apparently encrypted before the wipe and I didnt realize that.

Let you know what? If you have tried turning encryption off and you can't view them... I am not sure what else to do.
