Trying to use Yahoo Messenger.Anyone know anything about this error? "Service not enabled on this handheld". I can't figure it out. I have unlimited Internet and texting with my service. Am I supposed to activate the service on my phone somehow?

Are you on a BES by any chance?

Do you have a BB dataplan or a regular dataplan?

What device do you have?

What carrier?

Sounds like a missing service book. I know it's not what you're asking but Jivetalk is a much better IM app.

I'm sorry. I'm so new to this BB stuff that both of these replies are appreciated but you lost me.

I checked the tcp and it appears to already be set up.

Am I supposed to set up something else?

The OP is on AT&T, right?

Among the many posts & threads on Yahoo and AT&T: BB Yahoo Messenger 2.0.

I didn't search thoroughly, but I recall something along the lines of AT&T user's getting the service books somehow on to their blackberry. Don't know what's required different, if anything, with the newer version of yahoo messenger.

FWIW.
