My 8320 won't take a charge suddenly. If I plug it into a wall charger, the plugged in symbol by the battery icon turns on for about 2 seconds, thenn disappears. Same when I plug it into my laptop. There, in addition, windows says "USB Device not known or malfunctioned". I know i've seen this prob before, but no idea what to do about it. I tried pulling the battery, etc but nada.

Any suggestions would be verrrrrrrry appreciated!!

sounds like the usb port went. chances are if you look at it you will find one of the gold contacts either missing or pushed up.

there is no way to repair this but i see it a lot and consider it a manufacturing defect with the 83xx series even if rim does not,

yup. you called it. Thanks so much for the tip. This will be the second one I've had tmobile replace. Bummer that I didn't sync via bluetooth before it died. Well thanks again!!

Try putting in a different battery so you can sync it with bluetooth before you send it away. Perhaps a friend has one you could throw in for a few minutes
