Default How do I automatically hide read items?

Please Login to Remove!

I can hide filed or sent items but here is no option to hide read items. Why not?

Should I use Filing, and have "hide filed items" switched on to achive this?

If so, do I have to file every message I read?

Is there a better way like setting up a rule or something? If this is so, can I centralise this rule on the BES to apply to multiple BBs?

Why would you want to hide read items? If you're having trouble finding unread items you can hit U to find the next unread message.

If you're on BIS, filing won't do anything.

The reason I want to hide read items is because our 6 directors and 4 Executives have requested it. These BB users often have 50 + unread items in their Outlook mailbox at any given time, and dont want the clutter (viewable by default in the messages folder) of stuff they have seen (opened).
Using U is OK to group unread items together - and is the solution we are using in the meantime.

Wirelessly posted (8700g)

Maybe there's a solution on BES and I'm therefore unaware. It does seem possible to save read messages and set options to hide saved messages, but that would be more trouble than it's worth to me.

The U shortcut is the ideal option to me. And to search, use S to bring up the search screen, then search on a name or subject, then use U to work through the unread search results.
