Default Subjective personal advice about buying window

Long version, skip if you want
So, I totally missed the $49 refurb price on the Titanium earlier this week (had in my cart!), and now it's up to $99, and out of stock, even, on the Premier account. Darn. $249 new. How does that compare to what you paid? You can tell by my post I've regretted not getting in, and (perhaps stupidly) willing to pony up that for a mere replacement; and have turned to the board for hopefully varied opinions.

I mentioned before in a thread about getting one for a backup to my day-to-day iPhone. You can weigh in on whether this is worth the wait, or if $249 is indeed a good deal. No, I'm not going to do anything shady like try and recoup costs by reselling (because I would just lose the ability to upgrade again anyway).

Questions:
How often does AT&T get restocked with refurbs?
Is it worth holding out for a replenished supply?

If you are going to pay 250 with the 2 year upgrade, i would check ebay, thats what a Curve goes for. Then you can keep your upgrade...

Thats what i would do in your situation.

I paid $299 for my first 8310...but (like an idiot) sold it to take another shot at the iPhone...

I am back to BlackBerry, and got an amazing deal from my local AT&T agent, picking up my Titanium model for only $99 after the $100 rebate. But...I was prepared to pay $299 again, and would have gladly if he hadn't suprised me with the deal he did.

Personally...I would shop around and get your best deal now. You can wait for them to get cheaper...and wait too long.

Memorial Day weekend is also a good time to look for bargains.

Dropped to $200. They'll likely get my money if they drop it more

I hope someone can explain whether or not the extra FAN rebate ($60) is available if you decide to add the plan, say a few weeks after buying the phone. Not a dealbreaker, just curious.

Oh by the way: I called AT&T and the CS rep. on the phone said the data plan for unlimited would be $100, voice would be like, $50 a month or some nonsense.

My question is, if I sign up for the plan now online through my Premier account (unlimited data is $28, 450 minute plan is $31.99; seems like an awesome deal and worth ditching the iPhone) will:

a) the family talk plan be converted to this new individual plan, or will my wife's phone be split into her own plan? And what plan would that be for her?

b) or, will this pricing be available after the fact (if i keep my current Family plan), and the $60 rebate applicable? My guess is not on both counts.

UPDATE Phone cost is actually $50 instantly when a plan is added. Holy crap! Goodbye, iPhone?

Thanks for your help.
