I have heard some TMO MMS horror stories about being reliable. But when you purchased your BB Data Plan did you add MMS Pic Messaging? It's not part of the unlimited.

If your phone is new or you just opened up an account you need to MMS enable your phone. What you need to do is send yourself a MMS. After doing this you will be able to send and receive MMS messages. I had this problem when I first got my BB and the TMO CRS made me do this and the the problem was fixed.

Does anyone know if this is necessary for AT&T phones as well? I haven't been able to send MMS messages either, and I'm signed up for unlimited messaging which, for AT&T, includes MMS.

Well I don't think you need a data plan to text or send MMS but I could be wrong.

A BB service plan does enable many features on the phone and I don't know if sms/mms is dependent on that. It would be wise to get a BIS plan, it's pretty pointless to have a BB without it.

SMS is not dependent on having a BB Data Plan, but having some data package does enable the MMS.
