Any real disadvantages of using 4.5 0.18 OS on TMO?

I read the endless pages of what people have in terms of installed aps, but wondered if there were any obvious issues or solid reasons for not installing the 4.5 beta software. Seems the majority of people with ATT had most of the negative issues and not TMO.

Is there a simple way to go back to 4.2 after the install (and backing up) if 4.5 is that unusable?

Thanks.

For starters, the network connections drop all the time.

Yes, you can easily downgrade. Check Main Page - BlackBerryFAQ for info on how to do that.

Currently have 4.2 OS on the desktop loader and have read the faq. If I install 4.5, will it overwrite the loader? Just want to be able to do a downgrade as easily as possible if necessary without having to format the C drive (jk).

Just follow the instructions for downgrading on the FAQ page, and you will be fine.

Of course, a good backup is always in order.

You can have many different OS's installed. The Desktop Manager will load the latest version. If you remove the latest version, it will load the latest version after that one is gone.

Thought I read some posts from you gentlemen both trying out 4.5 then removing it. Let me ask this question:

What are the benefits of running 4.5 if few people are satisfied with it?

Big O,

I too tried it and took it off because I could not edit my calender appointments. This build does not have the edit option when viewing an appointment. Otherwise, it was working fine for me. No drop calls or anything. UMA also was working fine too.

I haven't had any problems since I installed .18 OS. Video works great, picks up UMA faster, everything runds quicker and I do a ton of emailing for work and have not had any issues. So far, it's been an ideal upgrade!

I had the .18 and at the time I was using the Blackberry Redirector. As soon as I installed it my redirector stopped working. I tried for a day to fix it, but didnt have any luck. It may have just been my setup, but it didnt work for me. I just removed it and went back to the .10. Oh, and network connections seemed less reliable with .18 (like John Clark said)
