Default UMA Issues in Mexico

Please Login to Remove!

My wife and I both have TMo 8320's and they have been working great through the Telcel (2Wire) router we have here. All of a sudden this morning both of our UMA access went dark. I called TMo to see if there was a UMA outage, but obviously that didn't get far.

They told me I have to reconfigure the IPsec on my router to enable the connection. This doesn't make sense because the UMA feature on the phones has been working great. Do you think Carlos Slim and his techno junkies are killing the UMA signals through the Telcel network? Rumor has it they found a way to kill or at least diminish the signal through recognition of the Vonage signals...

We have Skype in the meantime for emergencies, but not having our phones really sucks. Any help would be appreciated...

The UMA came back in the afternoon but only as lowercase uma, which i understand means that it is not connected to the RIM server. It's been like this for 2 days now...it has to have something to do with my location i would assume (Mexico)..?

Also I have been having a heck of a time getting the WiFi to connect in public hotspots down here. I had to figure out how to manually add the IP and DNS addresses, but I still can't fully connect. I entered the WEP key into my laptop at the same location and it connected with no problem so that tells me there are issues with the 8320.

Yes...all of the above. I checked this morning and my wife's phone has uppercase UMA and mine still has lowercase uma...i think it has to do with my location.
