Installed 4.5 SW, but how do I actually upgrade with Desktop Manager?

There is no option anywhere to select 4.5. The desktop manager still shows 4.2.

What is the procedure to physically install 4.5?

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\loader.exe

I tried that and it brought up the 4.2 OS in the loader.

I was running into the same problem. I did a reboot and it seemed to work after that.

Tried a reboot already and no dice.

did you delete the vendor.xlm file?

you can find it in C:/program files/common files/reseach in motion/apploader/ it will be there, delete that file, restart your desktop manager and it will prompt you to upgrade your OS

That worked. Now backing up and upgrading.

trust me... if you have installed 4.5 to your PC and its not prompting you to upgrade your OS when you start DM (Desktop manager) then thats the issue... along with every OS upgrade you must delete that file...

Actually you do not need to delete vendor.xml for EVERY OS upgrade; only when you are trying to upgrade to an OS which was released by a carrier other than the original (branded) one.

But I delete it anyway :-)

true ^ but i always advise doing it anyways, because if people think they dont need to and then they go to upgrade and they cant... so yeah

you'd better be very patient for the initial device phase as it took 20 mins to finish the last part. the screen will show sand timer for a very long time.Don't do anything during this time, just wait....

is this the 4.5 beta or its actually supported? if so can i have a link to dl.
