Just got a data plan!! :)

Hello everyone, I just got a data plan for my Curve and was wondering what are all the cool things I can browse, download, etc... on the blackberry now that I can use the web...

1. How do I setup my gmail account with blackberry?

2. I'm looking at using MSN windows messenger, but when I went to www.blackberry.com/livemessenger on my phone and tried to download it says "Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support windows live messenger"... how do I get msn messenger working on the phone?

3. Any other cool things I can do now? :)

4. With the browser, how do you browse multiple pages at a time, like the tabs feature of Mozilla Firefox Browser?

5. Why with some websites on the blackberry, they look all distorted and stuff?

I really appreciate any and all help..

Thanks in advance.

1. Use the setup internet email icon on your homescreen or log into the BIS site for your carrier. Where can I log into my BIS account? - BlackBerryFAQ

2. There are lots of threads out there about that (it's not my thing as I use JiveTalk.)

3. You can surf the net, send/receive email, load 3rd party apps, use BBMessenger, etc.

4. You can't.

5. That is normal. You might try Opera Mini

Cool thanks a lot...

About the email, I set it up, but when I send an email... for some reason I get the the same email I just sent being sent back to me.. How do I fix this?

Also how is JiveTalk???

Thanks :)

Thank you very much John :)

edit: about the jive talk, how do you like this and how is it working for talking to your msn messenger buddies, etc..??

JiveTalk works great, one of THE most recommended applications for the Blackberry.

No Blackberry should be without JiveTalk! :-)

Cool, I just downloaded and installed it, works AMAZING!!!! I'm loving it!! :)

John Clark 05-06-2008 12:39 AM

Yep. It's a good app. I recommend the $29 license so when you get a new Berry you can transfer the app from the old to the new...or if you have to exchange your BB on warranty, etc.

Alright, thanks good idea :) I probably will buy it when the trial is up... I can't believe how great it works.

I was just wondering about the battery life and this program... if I leave it signed in all the time when my phone is on will it kill the battery or ?

John Clark 05-06-2008 01:05 AM

Battery life takes a little bit of a hit, not bad though.

You might also want to try Desktop View in the built-in browser.
