He not misunderstanding. TMO will
never carry the 8330. TMO is a GSM carrier. Similarly, TMO will never (and cannot) carry the 8830 or the 8130. at&t will never carry those models for the same reason. You won't see me griping about this because there's no need for them to do so as they have several GSM counterparts to choose from -- some of which they already offer. If a GSM BB that I want isn't offered by at&t I can purchase and unlock whatever GSM BB I want to use with at&t.
Even if TMO could why would they carry the 8330 (i.e. the CDMA 8310) when they already offer the only GSM Curve (the 8320) that they intend to carry? The 8330 was just released but that's only because CDMA devices tend to be released later than their GSM counterparts. Please refer to the countless threads where CDMA customers complain that they can't get the latest and greatest BB's until a year later or so. There is nothing that makes it any "better" than the 8310 aside from an OS update which will be released down the road for the 8310. Please use the comparison tool at Blackberry.com to confirm this for yourself.
If you want the 8330 on TMO what you're really looking for is an unlocked 8310. Being on a GSM carrier you can do this. There's no reason to be envious of the latecomer CDMA models.
