Default Question about email and timing of emails

Please Login to Remove!

I recently just picked up a Curve. This is my first Blackberry ever. I am using it for work, but I am not on our work's plan through AT&T. Since I am not on my company plan, they can't put me on the company blackberry server. So what our IT guy was set up my work email address on the berry. What I am finding is that I am not getting all the emails and sometimes emails are showing up 10-15 minutes later than they are showing up in my MS Outlook.

Is this a setting issue? I checked the email reconciliation and the wireless reconciliation is on.

Any suggestions on how to improve performance or am I just stuck with this since it is not on my company server?

You are on a BIS setup, and your email will poll and push to the BB about every 15 mins. It will check again in three mins and push any new mail and eventually revert back to 15. That is just the way it works.

On a BIS plan, the email reconcile button does nothing.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

Do you see any future improvements with this?

Make sure you have "Leave mail on server" selected on your PC email client (Outlook?). Other wise, when mail gets sent and downloaded to the PC, it will be deleted from the server and RIM cannot pull it to push to your BB.

The 15 minute delay on BIS is normal.

that's quite weired so what do you have a bb for? in germany (t-mobile bis) you got every e-mail account pushed .i got four accounts on my bb all get pushed by t-mo without any problem most of the time it's faster than imap on my thunderbird.....
hehe but you got a 8320 and 8330 here the 8310 was released 2 month ago
and you got to pay more money ...... (at least the mobile phone itself was for free....)
