Default adding icons to folders - Verizon 8330

Please Login to Remove!

When I create a folder within the BB Dimension icon Theme and I move icons/apps to the newly created folder they do not show up. Anyone else experience this problem? The other themes work just fine.

Yep, I've experienced the same thing, and I know others who have as well. If you create folders in an "L" or "Zen" style of theme, the folders seem to work fine. If you create folders in a theme that is just a page full of icons, the icons disappear when they go into the folder. What I've found is that if you let the BB go to sleep, then wake it up, the icons will be visible, but the problem will recur every time you try to enter the folder. What I finally did was wait until they were visible and then move them back out of the folder. After that I clicked on the folder to go 'up'. I had to then let it go to sleep again, and when I woke it up, I'd be at the main home screen and I was able to delete the folder I'd created. This was 100% repeatable across the themes supplied by Verizon, and also those I've downloaded. Very frustrating - and hopefully something that will be addressed down the road.

ok. this is what I experienced.. when creating a folder in the BB Dimension Icon and you place icons in that folder, then you switch to another theme and switch back to BB Dimension Icon the icons in the folder are gone. I can't believe there are so few complaining about this issue.

I agree completely. There are some themes I'd really like to use, but the inability to create useable folders makes them pointless. I am amazed there is no outcry for some kind of a fix.

Okay, I've got a solution for you that WORKS for Verizon 8830's when using folders in the BB Dimension theme! Create all your folders and put items in them, then remove the battery for ten seconds or so and reinstall it. Your app icons will now appear in the folders not instantly, but fast enough, in the folders you created, without waiting 30 seconds for the screen to black out and then come back. THAT'S ALL FOLKS! Have a great weekend!

That's only a temporary fix if you stay on the bb dimension theme and you don't switch theme's. Once you switch theme's you are back to square one.
