That is not truly "off" (obviously you see that now).

On your homescreen, go to the power off icon and power down that way if you must power the device down. I never turn mine off except when flying, I have no need to do so otherwise.

But using auto off, etc., is still not truly "off" as you know. It still powers itself up on alarm and calendar events, and the LED blinks if you have it set to do so.

I turned it off via the menu and it still flashes, so it's not truly off. What am I doing worng?

When you do that, did you select the "Full Power Off" option?

Its not an option. Are you talking about the "turn phone off" option in the apps menu?
I even highlighted the turn phone off option and hit menu to look for a full power off choice, but there isn't one.

It is an option on my "Turn Power Off", but, lol, I notice my LED continues to blink as well!

When you power off and power back on, does it take a couple minutes to boot up or does it come on right away?

Mine turns on right away except when I do a battery pull where it takes about 2 mins to boot up. I just assumed that it always takes a full 2 mins to turn on. Maybe I'm wrong...

Now does turning the phone off by holding the red key down for 3 seconds do the same thing as going into apps and turning off that way?

Well I stopped at a TMobile store today and they can't figure out why the LED still lights even after I power down. They said that's the way it is supposed to be. I got the feeling that they're wrong but told me that so I would go.

I agree Dawg... mine does it too, I have noticed. I swore it would go off, but it didn't with me yesterday.

I have a feeling they are more right than you think.
