IS there any way a single user can get the BlackBerry Enterprise Server?

where can i get it and also how much?

IF it is too much money is there any other Sources to get something similar to this feature?

To tell you the truth I am not sure what BES really even is I only use BIS which pushes my email to my phone. What does BES do?

BlackBerry go look for BlackBerry professional software. You need a messaging server (Exchange/Domino/Groupwise) for BES and Exchange/Domino for BPS

If you have a server and Exchange server, you can set it up yourself. BlackBerry actually allows you to register your PIN and download the BES software with a license for one BB client on it. All for free! That's how I got a BES into our company. Now we have 10 users on it.

from what im told, I called Verizom Wireless and they told me that for me to get wireless sync of contacts and email and calander i would need BlackBerry Enterprise Server Well im a single user and Im not going to spend $1000.00 to get this. What ever i use dosnt have to be wireless that would just be a neat feature. If any one can give me any other options that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

check for hosted BES sponsors. Link2Exchange and Exchangemymail. they both are reputable and can give you that option. (its a monthly fee). Also look at the BlackBerry Unite! section on this site. It isnt out for US customers yet but is coming.

You don't have to -- that's what hosted BES is for.

So what do i do? at this point I have just thought I would use Outlook and synce with it with the USB cable.

You can install the Blackberry Desktop Manager software (on your computer) that came with the phone or download it from https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/browseSoftware.do

Is there a place to go to understand what in the world BIS and BES is? I'm new to the BB, love it, but don't understand these concepts. ANy help?

BIS = Blackberry Internet Service
BES = Blackberry Enterprise Server

If you have a data plan on the blackberry you can login to your carriers website and setup the BIS to receive your email.

BES is used in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange and BES servers to receive email on your blackberry.

Nope. Email does not sync on BB's. No matter what service you use neither BIS nor BES interact with your email client. They both connect to your mail server.

If you want hosted BES you need to sign up for service with a BES hosting company and you need a BB data plan from your carrier that supports BES. The BES host will provide you with detailed instructions.
