Default How do I stop unwanted e-mails?

I just got a Curve off ebay and i'm getting messages that are not for me. They say

Received using: Unknown

I did a device wipe but that didn't help.

You need to have the BIS account associated with your BB deleted. Contact the former owner.

OK, I am hunting for him. It is odd to me that I have created a new BIS account for this device yet the old one lingers...
