Do you have email and browser working ok?

Did you simply install the Yahoo Messenger from the backup? Perhaps you need to delete the application and load it fresh, new.

call tech support *2 they will get it working for you. i havnt tried my messengers yet. but you need to have the phone provisioned before all online apps will work. tech support will tell you what needs to be done. when its provisioned it will add the browser and the navigation icons.

I guess that is why I asked the question... "Do you have email and browser working ok?".

If you do, you have a Data Plan provisioned. If you don't, you need one. I thought Sprint required it, but it could take a while to provision on the account, although normally only a couple hours.

Or is it darker than it shows on the sprint site?

Since Y! Messenger is already on the Sprint Curve, I just took the Yahoo Service Books from the following link:
Box.net - Free Online File Storage, Internet File Sharing, Online Storage, Access Documents & Files Anywhere, Backup Data, Send Files

Then, I used the BB Desktop Manager "Restore" function to restore the .ipd file to my Sprint Curve 8330. I then went to https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=sprint and re-sent my service books and voila! Y! Messenger v2.0.46 now works like a champ.

Good luck!
