Default Dialing 'jingle'

Please Login to Remove!

My BB 8310 is my third Blackberry. It replaced my BB 8800 which replaced my BB 8700c.

The 8310 makes a funky little speed dial 'jingle' (it actually sounds like speed dialing a bunch of numbers) when dialing from the home screen. (Example: I press and hold 'H' to call home, and I hear the sound). The sound is not made when I dial from an entry in my address book. Neither the 8800 nor the 8700c had this annoying habit... and I cannot find anyplace to 'turn it off'.

Anyone? How can I make this stop?

There is no way to turn that off... try changing to the Silent or Vibrate profile and if it occurs.

well... if quiet turns it off... then just always keep your profile as quiet. and go into your advanced settings and change them all.

quiet is quiet by default, but you can customize every profile. you could even make normal just like quiet, except for the speed dial tone unless you can find whatever it is that may be making that sound and just change that part.

Wirelessly posted (8310; The Juggernaut)

"That" part is not editable though, the speed dial "bling" is not.
Personally it doesn't bother me as I like the audible confirmation that my call has been dialed.
And -- we're certainly a step ahead og the past OS releases where the DTMF tone could not be quietened in any profile selected.
