Default Recommendations for a spam filter

I'm looking for a spam filter that would work on my BB rather than a server side application. I don't care if it's free or if I have to purchase it, but I don't want a subscription service.

One of the only device spam filters is developed by Antair, it could be the only.

The reason there are not others is that spam IS best filters on the server, but here is at least one option. I know it is commercial, I just don't recall if one-time of subscription-based.

In my opinion Gmail is a very viable option on the server side. It wont even send down most spam to your BB. You can also do the gmail for business and use your own domain. I get very little spam on my Blackberry through gmail. Works great for me!

Are you getting SPAM or just trying to avoid getting any if it comes in?

One of the best SPAM filters is to NOT use the carrier supplied email address. It is totally unfiltered.

That's the only one that I know of.

Best practice really is to filter before spam reaches your mail server with filtering on the server coming in second. Filtering on the BB itself is a distant third IMO. Though I guess it beats the manual approach.
