Default Email Issues - 05-15-2008, 12:14 PM

I just bought a 8330 and I have all the email set up and working. What I want to do is use the blackberry email and get rid of the rest. The question I have is where besides the phone can you check and respond to emails via the computer. Like when I had the Motorola Q they had a seperate web site for doing alot of different things with email and contacts.

Thanks, sorry if this is a dumb Question but I have been searching for this for 2 days with not results..

Randy

If I were you, I would not use the carrier supplied email address at all, for several reasons. I assume this is what you mean by "blackberry email".

First, you will open yourself up to receiving more SPAM that you care to get. that account is unfiltered and I have not heard of a SPAM filter for a BB.

Second, you do not own that address. Therefore, you cannot take it with you when and if you leave your current carrier. Plus, it can change at any time. Not likely to happen, but there is always the possibility.

And last, you can only check that email on the BB itself. There is no web-based email solution nor can it be downloaded to your PC in an email client such as Outlook or Thunderbird, etc. And as an FYI, there is a scheduled RIM outage this Sunday from 2 AM to 6 AM Eastern.

Gmail, most times is almost instant. I have a lot less issues than with Yahoo.
In any case, you will not get to reconcile but if you forward an account to your BIS account it will be near instant and will not result in spam.

This is called a thread jacking... You should post your question in another thread. You need to import them into a PIM, Outlook, etc. and then synch them.
