Default How are the bestskinsever screen protectors for the Curve? - 05-15-2008, 01:56 PM

Thinking about ordering a 2-pack -- and for $6.00, you can't go wrong!

Just wanted some feedback from those who use them...

I have them on my Curve and have been very happy. I didn't install the long strip the goes to the left and right of the screen but not to concerned. Besides, that looked like a pain to put on...lol

The other skins were very easy to put on. I'd recommend 'em.

I have had BSE on my Pearl for almost 2 years now. Still looking and working great.

if you have the new verizon curve, it's not an exact fit (i think I ordered the one for the 8310, 8320, etc) Unless I ordered the wrong one. They are great though!

Wirelessly posted

I just ordered skins for the Curve and Pearl. I haven't tried any other skins from other companies, but I've noticed a texture of grain on the main screen.

It must be the way the plastic is produced, but the texture is apparent and it's obvious there's a visible grain on the screen.

Maybe it's just my application, but I doubt it, as I was very careful.

I see the same thing on mine. However, it's nothing that bothers me while using the device. To see it, the screen needs to be off really...

Tried em... didnt like them.

I use "invisible shield" (zagg dot com). Truly (well... virtually... )indestructible screen protection. Also has full body shield.

I use them on all of my devices... impeccable screen clarity.

No... no affiliation with the company; just a very, very satisfied customer.

My main issue with the BSE, I had it on my 8830, in face I think I created a DIY guide on here as well with pictures.. After about 6 months or so the corners wear down and start to get all dirty. I will need to get pictures of my 8830 to show this. I am hoping the much more expensive invisshield holds up a lot better.

Yeah, after about a year with my Pearl, the corners started to attract dirt, but kept the phone in excellent condition. BSE skins aren't perfect, but for $ 8.00, you can't ask for better protection of your device.

I have tried those as well. My opinion is that all the skins similiar to these are idential in performance. I like BSE because of the cost. Anyone of theses skins will provide your device from scratches as good as the next.

I ordered up the BSE after reading opinions on this site. I'm really glad I did. I don't worry about scratches at all. I regularly drop my Curve in a bag with keys and stuff... No marks on it. The texture took a little getting used to, but I only notice it on the screen when its turned off. I'd call it an "orange peel" texture, like on automotive paint. There's a certain peace of mind that comes from protection this strong, though. If the corners collect dust or peel back, I'll happily order another. A final bonus for me is that they are local to me... I'm all about suporting local business when I can.

I have used and installed every brand of these skins/covers/cases - Invisible Shield, Bodyguardz, Bestskinsever, Invisible Protection, etc. (installed hundreds of these on iPods) They are all virtually the same material - the main differences come in the way they are cut, and the adhesive they use. I have used these for years on my phones and iPods, and they are awesome. They are VERY hard to scratch, don't get fingerprints and finger smears, I never second guess putting my phone in my pocket with my keys.

Two problems with them though: the corners and edges can start to peel and collect junk, and they get dirty after several months. You don't really notice that they get dirty until you take them off - they are tinted grey. It is for these two reasons that I highly recommend Bestskinsever - for the price. The two best companies for these skins are Invisible Shield and BSE, and BSE is FAR cheaper. You can buy two, put one on and save one for 6-10 months later when you need a refresh.

I always install them within a day of opening a new phone or iPod to keep it mint - has kept my Curve nice and shiny. +1 for BSE.

I know the instructions say to install the BSE skins, and then leave the phone alone for 24 hrs to let them set/dry. Is that much time really necessary?

I can't be without my phone for that long, which is what is keeping me from putting them on so far.

Also, I checked out the directions and I gotta say I'm really nervous about putting any liquid on the screen. I assume no problems with doing that then right?

I've had BSE on my BB 8310 for about 7 months now -- works great. Those long strips on the left and right sides are very difficult to apply, but once you get them in place, they make for great protection on the sides. Don't be concerned about using the water/soap solution -- it will be fine if you follow the directions; just don't go overboard and completely soak your device.

I just took my BSE full body side pieces off because they collected so much dirt under it, it looked gross. But the rest of it looks great, I've had it on for a few months.
