Default Bluetooth connection to VW Passat

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

Just got an 8310 and have spent ages trying to get it to connect to the factory-fitted Bluetooth phone installation in my VW Passat. This connection worked fine with my previous phone - a Nokia E61.

The phone 'sees' the car and asks for a password to be input. I use '0000' (recommended by my BB supplier), but after a few seconds the phone displays 'Unable to connect to VW'.

Spoken to VW and they suggest the BB might not be RSAP (Remote SIM Access Profile) compliant, but think this can be somehow enabled within the phone, or might need software upgrade.

I saw something similar on another forum trying to get a Mercedes to connect to BB, so it doesn't look unusual.

Anyone come across this problem before? Any solutions?

Thanks in advance!

BlackBerry devices are NOT RSAP capable for security reasons
