Default Full screen video?

Please Login to Remove!

I Guys, I just got the curve from vzw. Phone is great. Go the all the software updated to the latest from the BB site.

Question I have is on full screen video. No matter what I do to my videos, they never fill the full screen. I have tried re-encoding video to all kinds of resolutions from various threads on this site, but no luck. Regardless of whether I check "full screen" from the menu, its a small box in the middle of the screen. I have tried both a full screen video and a wide screen video, no luck.

Is there a settign somewhere i'm missing in the media player?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated as this is my only gripe with this new toy

Thanks!!!

probably not. The vid is probably doesn't have a big enough resolution to fill the screen. Mess with the resolution when taking a new vid and see if that works. Mine does the same thing, but thats because I have it set that way. Full screen looks choppy anyways.

Hmm...I gotta believe there is something that allows u to fill the screen.

My old RAZR did that no prob (just a lil choppy)

Is there a better media player out there that would do this?

Good luck finding it man. The only thing Ive found so far is this one media player off of here that said "full screen" but it wasnt. What I wish they could do is just ad the option to flip the screen and fill it. I had that on my last phone, Samsung T819, and it completely filled the whole screen perfectly. The screen on that phone was 176x144 and it still was bigger then the Pearl

Default Totally Possible

I have full screen (fills entire screen if 4:3 or has black bars at top and bottom if Widescreen).

I use AVS4You software. (AVS4YOU Best software for you on today's market. Subscribe and download now for free!, I think) It's the absolutely best software for Audio/Video stuff. You pay one fee and get use of all their software (about 10 programs in all).

Here are the settings I used to create my full screen Videos:

MP4 Format
Video: MPEG4 - best quality, 24 fps,320 x 240; Audio: MPEG4 AAC LC 128 kbps, 48000 Hz, Stereo

I still haven't tested all the possible formats that BB can read, but this one gave me good quality and decent file size.

I will try this right now and report, since I really hate those black bars.
I will try both for Pearl and Curve, so I will try both 320 x 240 and 260 x 240.

AVS works, but it costs money, and also it jitters when we play it on Curve, plus it has sound/video sync problems. I think we will just stick to Blackberry Video Converter, and it is free, although even with that the playback is not smooth enough. I am guess it is the limitation of processor (crappy).
