1) Don't live in the states
2) Why would I spend $10 on a ball when I could just clean it, I just don't know what with...

Try searching the forum, there's a few methods around - none of which I can remember off the top of my head right now.

I have tried Nail Polish remover, vinegar, bleach, soap, toothpaste and Goof. I cannot find anything that will restore it to pristine white. I now buy my replacement trackballs in bulk.

E-

Oh yeah, jewelery cleaner as well.

Use a q-tip and put a bit of rubbing alcohol on it. Turn the device upside down and vigorously shake the BB and then begin rubbing the trackball with the q-tip and rubbing alcohol.

I found that a little bit of make up remover works really well on mine as my trackball seemed to be the same color as my face powder. I just hold it still with my thumb nail and rub on very little bit and then wipe it clean with a tissue. Its easy to become obsessive about that little track ball.

third that; Im considering buying a new one, but how will I keep it dazzling white?
Btw I dont think its finger grease that makes the trackball dirty I think its from the face. This was brought up in a different thread. Im a smoker and I will use my phone after eating without washing my hands. My ball remained relatively white over the first two months (used the phone less than 100 minutes combined) while I was obsessively playing with it every chance I had, I noticed it got dirty after I actually began using it to make phonecalls.

Yes, oils and makeup and soap, etc. all contribute to the darkening of the trackball. Everyone has different amounts of oils in their skin. Some people's will stay light for a longer time than others.

There is no way to keep it dazzling white. Don't even bother trying. You can prolong it by using keyboard shortcuts as much as possible and using the trackball less.
