Default Home Screen tool tips are missing - 06-05-2008, 05:31 AM

hi everyone,

let me explain my problem, on my manager's blackberry when you goto homes screen and select any of the 5 icons i mean just highlight it, it tells you its name for example if you highlight address book a small tool tip appears saying ADDRESS BOOK,

the problem is i am not getting any tooltip and difficult to know which icons means what without clicking them.

Also i used to get a small icon on my messages folder whenever i get a new mail but that icon is missing, now i couldnt know if a new mail has come.

please help me out.

Thanks in advance

log onto your carriers site and download the latest software for your phone. (Unsupported Browser) thats for USA t-mo. not sure of UK.

update your device if necessary. try a different theme for a while and see if that fixes it (options > theme)

hopefully the update will fix your problem tho

I don't think you need to update the OS -- just yet.

First, pull the battery on the device with it powered on. Hold 30 seconds, replace and reboot. See if you Icon names reappear now.

For the New Message Indicator, look at Messages Folder > Options > General Options > Display New Message Indicator = YES.
