Default Bringing my 8330 to 4.2

Is it possible to downgrade my Verizon 8330 (curve) from the 4.3 to the 4.2.2 or whatever the most recent 4.2 version was? I hate the fact I can't make a theme for it and that BlackberryAlerts doesn't work for the SMS.... I was looking but I can't find the old version of the operating system.

You cannot go back since there was never a v. 4.2 for the 8330. It started out at v 4.3.

You'd also have to give up the video camera and streaming video to go back to 4.2 (assuming it was possible). I'm diggin' those features, so I'm not sure I could give 'em up . . .

umm BB Alerts should work with 4.3 without issue... it works great in 4.5 so i dont see why it doesnt work with 4.3, trying going through the options in bbalerts and see if something is not right

when I download it from Handango and try to install it, it tells me that "No additional applications designed for my device were found". If I use the OTA link it appears to work alright.

I'm running Desktop Manager 4.3.0.17

Exclamation

I installed the Trial/demo of BlackBerry Alerts on my new BB Curve 8330 from Alltel. Under the audio profiles, I did not see an option for BBAlerts. It wasn't working. I went into Options--Advanced Options--Applications--selected Blackberry Alerts, and changed permissions on the application to allow on all 3 options. Not sure which is needed, but I gave it permission to all. This still didn't make the option show up even after resetting by doing a battery removal.

I then, using BB Manager while connected via USB, unchecked the BlackBerryAlerts so it would uninstall. This triggered my device to reboot. After it came back up, BB Manager said the uninstall was good. I then Re-Checked the box and had the software re-installed on my 8330. This time I see the BBAlerts option in the audio profiles. I was then able to follow the normal instructions on the BByMel Software page to get it configured for alerting.

Hope this helps anyone else with an 8330. Too bad Handango still tells me that the 8330 isn't supported when I tried to download it from them. I'll be contacting them about this.
