Default 2 Email questions VZW 8330

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

So I got my new Curve this week, upgraded from the 8830, worth every penny to do it

I do have 2 questions I was hoping you could help with.

First, I have tried Emailing photos from the phone, and the emails seem to hang. There is a circle next to the email as if its in the process of sending it, but it never actually sends it, is this a simple fix?

Second, I have 2 emai addresses on it. A gmail account and an optonline account. I went in to settings to make my gmail the default, and it still sends it from the optonline account.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

1. It can take a while for a .5 mb image to upload, but it works. Are you getting the red X not sent symbol next to the email?

2. The BB will automatically use the last "send using" address it used, the next time you email the same contact. You will need to manually change that the next time you email that contact, and in the future it will be correct for the default. A BB will default to the last used service even when you reset the default in Options, Advanced, Default services.

Hi J, thanks for the quick reply.....

1. Theres no red X, just a circle. I emailed it last night at 10:30 its still sitting in that status. I emailed my work address another photo this morning around 9, its now 10:15 and that one is still hanging....anything else it could be?

2. Thats interesting, I definitely have to keep an eye on that as I am trying to get it down to just my Gmail. My other question related to this one in that case is, someone emailed my optonline address yesterday, when I went to reply I typed my message clicked to send, and there was no option to send. I had to copy my whole message and past it in a new email to get it to go.....

Thanks again

I would recommend, first, pull your battery with the device powered on, hold for 30 seconds and replace to reboot. See if it sends.

Well, I did as said, and when it came back on there were red X'es on the 2 emails I tried to send. So I tried to resend, its about 10-15 minutes and I have the circles again. augh

You have no issue sending a normal email with no attachment?

How big are the attached files? I have sent up to 3.5 MB before in one email, it took about 25 mins to send on an EDGE signal. Your EVDO data should even be faster.

Well, the only thing I could think of is the size of the picture must had affected it. I tried some tests back and forth with my work email, and everything was going back and forth just fine without attachments. I took a photo with the phone and it didnt go through. I took another photo at a smaller size, and that one went through. So I guess we can't take 2 Megapixel shots and email them???

I can take a 2mp shot, perhaps some carrier throttle or such, but at least it is working.

JSanders, I want to thank you for your prompt responses, I really appreciate it. So your saying you CAN take and email the 2MP shots with no issues? Is it possibly a phone issue, or a service issue do you think?
