Default Music as ringtones and vice versa

probably a noobie question but why is it that music and ringtones are separated and how do i make it so that whatever i put in my BB as music can be used as a ringtone or whatever i put in my BB as ringtones cud be played as music

anything that is a "ringtone" can be played in your media player. To get your music as a ringtone you can either move the file if you want it in the ringtone folder or you can just edit your phone profiles by selecting advanced below all the sound options (loud, mute, vibrate...) and just browse for a file and select your song.

sorry .. me being stupid put the music in the ringtones folder and then realized it was unnecessary since it cud be a ringtone from the music folder
