Default Email Accounts on my Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

So far I have registered (or set up) two email accounts on my Blackberry Curve from Verizon - an existing account that I don't use very often and a new account @vzw.blackberry.net. Having these two accounts has allowed me to do some testing and experimentation with sending and receiving messages without involving anyone else. So far I have not set up my primary everyday email account, because I don't want the numerous messages that come in to that account to show up on my BB. The new message light would be flashing constantly. If I'm out of town on a trip, however, I will want to access my primary account using my BB. Is there a concept of activating and deactivating an email account, or do I need to set it up when I want it and delete it later when I don't want it?

Set it up on our BIS as you need it, deleted it from your BIS when you don't.

Because RIM designed the BB for "always-on" email, there is not an to turn off just one account. You can turn off "data" from the device, but not one email account.

Good luck.

Default Quick Replies

I'm amazed by the quick and useful replies on this board! I went off for a few minutes to upload a new avatar and found two replies when I came back. Thanks!

actually what you could do is go to set up internet email and when you dont want to receive emails to your bb, type in the wrong password..that will invalidate the connection to the server and fail to retreive emails. when you go out of town log back in and enter the correct password and it will begin to receive emails as usual

hope that helps!
