Default tmobile and GPS

Please Login to Remove!

I'm ready to replace my 8703 with a BB. I'm likely leaving Verizon for TMobile but after reading around I'm confused and want a bit of clarification. If anyone can help answer these questions I'd appreciate it:

A Curve with TMobile offers Wifi but not GPS?

A Curve with VZW offers GPS but not Wifi?

The benefits of Wifi is that you utilize a Wifi connection when available to make your calls, thus saving your minutes?

*****************************************

If that is the case then I have no use for Wifi because I rarely use all my minutes.

Here's the deal. I want to leave VZW because they seem to nickel and dime me at every turn. Is it possible to get GPS with Tmobile at all?

Thanks for the assist!

You have three choices:

Get a T-Mobile 8820 (not a curve, but it has both WiFi and GPS)
Get a T-Mobile 8320 and add a GPS external puck
Get an unlocked 8310 and use it on T-Mobile; GPS will work fine (Telenav, as an example)

Wirelessly posted

I just surfed to this site on three bars of WiFi and then turned off WiFi and came back via five bars of EDGE and I'm amazed how much faster WiFi is. I'm going to get a wireless router today just because of it!

With regard to gps, there are those who have the 8320 and use a gps puck and swear by it... I hope to count myself among them soon.

...curious as to why you don't just buy a separate GPS unit altogether? Then get the Wi-fi enabled phone.
