Default Desktop...

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

Just got my first Blackberry (curve) yesterday and i'm already hooked. The one question I do have with it is whenever I go to set my desktop background part of the picture is cut off. I am using the default AT&T theme, (the one with the clouds) and above and below all of the icons the clouds are still there but in the middle is the custom background. I do like the way this theme is set up with the icons and all but having the cutom background get cut off is very annoying.

Any suggestions?

The issue is related to the AT & T theme. As the previous poster said use another theme.

Yeah all the other ones I have on my phone are not so good. Are there any just plain and simple themes similar to the one that comes with AT&T's BB but that allow me to have my background fill the whole screen? I've been looking and all I can find are these crazy ones, lol.

Thanks much

Ok I like this one, Blackberry 8300 Curve free theme : Elemental Zen but I cant figure out how to install it on my BB...lol.

I guess im a blackberry noobie after all.

I tried downloading it, but then when I clicked on the folder in the blackberry media manager thing it said that were no files in the folder that matched the filter settings =\

There are many many themes to choose from. What I do is look for ones with icons that I like then change the wallpaper to one of my liking.

It is a good idea to resize your pictures to the size of your screen.

Most themes will have no problems setting your wallpaper correctly.

Have a look at themes4bb.com. For free ones.

Was it a zip file? Double click it to extract the .alx file.

Plug in bb to pc, open desktop manager, select application loader then select add , find and click on the .alx file. This puts it in the loader, click next then next again maybe then finish.

Ok awsome...i got it to work. But I still have just 2 easy questions for you.

#1 - When I am done uploading stuff to my blackberry how to I safely eject it from my computer? OR can I just unplug it? Because I know with the ipods if you just unplug it, its not good for it.

#2 - I want it so that all of my icons are arrange in horizontal bars across the whole screen, not just on the left side. On the place where I downloaded this it shows pictures of both. Right now they are all on the left side - how do I change this?

Thanks so much

1. just unplug it from the USB cable

2. press the menu key (key immediately to the left of the track ball.

I just pull mine out but you can click on the little icon that appears in the task bar and select safely remove hardware.

Where there 2 styles of themes to choose from?

A zen theme has icons on the left, an icon theme has them in horizontal bars.
