Default duplicate address entries

Please Login to Remove!

I have an 8320 and synch using bluetooth to Outlook in Windows XP

Why have I got three entries for every contact, when the prevent duplicates is switched ON.

And

why does the HELP tell me that when I am in Address Book, I should open the MENU option, when it is CLEARLY not available to me.

NEW USER AND NOT VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS BLACKBERRY

Welcome to the BBForums, roger.

Do you also have your contacts on your SIM card? Delete those on your SIM card, for one thing.

When you are in your Address Book, press the Menu key (the key just to the left of the trackball). What are you looking for in the Menu?

Good luck. Most users find joy when finally getting a BlackBerry, some don't, it's just not for everyone, obviously. There is a somewhat steep learning curve, but nothing an open mind won't overcome.

Good luck.

Address Book Options - Open your Address Book. Click the Menu key > scroll to options.

Delete from SIM card - Open your Address Book. Click the Menu key > scroll to SIM PHONE BOOK. Delete them one by one.

Yes, and you should have the address book open when you do.

Yea, you need a phone.

The BlackBerry really is a phone secondarily, and a mobile email/PIM first, in my opinion.

whats the point of a device that has triple entry for every contact.
my address book has 2000 contacts in it!

If I manually delete them one by one, the next time I synch it puts three entry back in

so clever

You know, it really is your attitude holding you back.

You have put triplicate entries on your BlackBerry. Even if by accident, you did it. Believe me, your piece of glass, silicone and metal didn't wake up and run over to your PC and start sucking the contacts from Outlook or wherever you store them. Somebody had to give it a little help.

So there are workarounds for matters such as these, I have done it dozens of times with and for users on this website. And, it works. But, on your part, it will require patience, an open mind to change from your past habits, and most of all, now--another person to assist you.

I hear Nokia is a good phone.
