Default New Forum User/Application Loading Problem

Hi everyone...I'm new to the forum and this is my first post, but I have been reading a lot of threads.

Unfortunately, I'm having the same problem many others have had - loading applications using the Blackberry Desktop. I've followed the instructions for downloading both the desktop and the OS (Application Loader Error - BlackBerryFAQ), but I'm still getting the same error. Both programs are installed on my computer. I'm using a Verizon 8330 and running Windows Vista. I'm getting a bit frustrated (to the point of thinking of returning the phone and getting the Verizon Centro when it comes out in a few days)...Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you install Desktop Manager from CD or did you download the most current version from the Blackberry site

Maybe I can at least save you some time.

Uninstall both the OS you installed to the desktop and the Desk Top Manager, (DTMgr). Check the box to confirm you want to delete your user settings. Restart your computer.

Go to this location for the newest Verizon software, (don't use software from another site even if it appears to be the same version. Also ignore the disk that came with the device, the last update was late May, your disk probably doesn’t have the latest version).

OS Verizon Curve 8330:
BlackBerry® Software Updates

DTMgr Verizon Curve 8330:
Desktop Software

Install the DTMgr; restart the computer; install the OS; then plug in your Curve.

Check to be sure you have the right software check "Help/About/Components and look at the Loader version. It should be v 4.3.0.18. The OS version is 4.3.0.127.

Do a backup and then try to install your new apps.

If you still have a problem call Verizon, they may replace the device for you. Let us know how it goes please for others with the same problem.

I had high hopes because I had previously used these sites, but installed the OS first. Unfortunately, installing the desktop manager first did not work either :( I guess I'll just talk to Verizon. Thanks for your help, though!
