Default Opera as default

Please Login to Remove!

In search under 'opera' I suspect I've overlooked this but,

On this 8310 I have finally gotten opera to work, I know it does, and I'm using it now, my question though;
In e-mail links to other sites, this BB still insists on opening its own browser.

How can I make opera the default application?

No, you can't make Opera the default browser. The BB browser is the default and you will need it for any downloads, etc.

Thanks, what a pity.

It is (as I've read on here before)
A bit clumsy to use, but on the whole reasonably quick.

Oh well.

Cheers anyway

What is your sore disappointment?

Were you hoping it would be a PC?

Default Disappointment

Hey sorry for not getting back.
Thought the subject over!

No, my disappointment is primarily usability.

I have the previous chunkier model
(73??)
And although no mouse' up front, but a clicly wheel on its side.
It certainly seemed more positive than this uncertain ball feature that replaced it.
For myself I expected perhaps wrongly that there might be fewer glitches.
This device has to date and in the month of ownership;
1; Mouse' thing refused to navigate up..
2; Input language goes Arab' for no reason

Not in themselves insurmountable problems, just as I say

Disappointing in a brand new out of the box item.

PS,
had the previous device suddenly not begun eating battery life after Two years use, despite a new battery,
I would still be carrying it around.

Although you didn't ask:

1. RIM recommended method of fixing that is to press firmly on the "Mouse' thing" more commonly referred to as a "trackball", and scroll in the direction it does not want to go.

2. There is a reason. The user. Likely you are accidentally are pressing the Language Input shortcut keys (ALT + ENTER). If become tired of that happening, go to Options > Language and disable the input shortcut keys. (if not there, look at Options > Screen/Keyboard, I forget which).

So, you might be more pleased if you learned your device you have. And quite honestly, not start a flame here, but a slightly more open mind and attitude as well. If you came here to ask questions, please do. If you came to rant, I'd be glad to move your posts over to the Rant and Raves section of the forum.

Remember, this is a BlackBerry website, we are sorta partial to the brand and models. We'd like to help, but only to the extent you play along.

Good luck.

Listen buddie!

I never started a flame in the first place if you bother reading. A thread from the start.
If you had, you would have seen me ASKED the question why my signature is what it is

No, I think you misread; I don't wish to start a flame with you. I don't. I didn't say you did. I don't wish to.

So you don't want to know how to rectify your issues, which is why you didn't ask. I understand that. Simple enough, we won't go where we aren't wanted. The information I posted above will likely help another user who might be thankful in finding it, so I will leave it there, rather than my first inclination to delete it.

But I do think you would enjoy your device there if you learned more of its features.

I agree. People were far less likely to be rude since it was to someone's face. I'm guessing you don't agree with my reasons though.

I would think if you stopped and actually thought about what you typed before typing it, you would realize that the intent of what was said by JS there was to HELP. You posted a question, it was answered. He then went above and beyond by giving you other tips that may or may not help you. If it doesnt, fine, move on. Going to profanity is not likely to get yourself any more help here.
