Default syncing oddity

Please Login to Remove!

I sync with two computers both running 2003 Outlook.

I have been doing this since getting the Curve mid May. Although I have had three different Curves...they all seemed to handle the syncing process just fine.

Last night I noticed duplicate calendar entries. Unable to find a way to clear out permanently the dups I deleted the calendar entries on my Home PC and set the sync process to overwrite the PC with the data in the Curve.

Now I get an MS Error message and DTM shuts down on me as soon as I attempt to sync. I did a restore, tried different settings, reinstalled DTM, did everything I could think of to start fresh short of wiping the Curve. No luck.

Now at work today, I can still sync with the work PC leaving me to believe it's a problem with Outlook or DTM on my Home PC.

Thoughts?

Gary

I would uninstall DM at home (make sure to delete the registry keys and reboot before reinstalling), then reinstall. Make sure in your PIM Config you have the proper folders selected to sync with.

Not sure how to locate the reg keys.

I wondered about the folders. I'll check that out.

Thanks....

Wirelessly posted (Curve 8330)

HKEY_CurrentUser>Software>RIM
HKEY_LocalMachine>Software>RIM

Just delete the key that says Research In Motion.

Only do this if you are confident in your registry editing. If you delete/change the wrong key it could melt your system down.

It worked!

Thanks...that was the ticket apparently. Cleaned up the registery, then did a clean install and synced no problem. First wrote to the desktop Outlook from the device to move the calendar over to Outlook, then tried a two way sync and it worked just fine.

Again, thanks..

There's also an article in the RIM technical knowledgebase that details the steps for a clean uninstall of DM.
