Default Can't install to my new 8330C curve

Just got my new Curve. I work in the medical field and I'm trying to install some medical software I desperately need to it for work. When trying to install I get an error message stating that I need to, "...install the HotSync software provided with my Palm handheld device." I've gone over all the cd's and software included with my smartphone and can't see how I haven't already installed it. I have the desktop manager installed and can sync to my Outlook. Now I'm starting to wonder if I can even install to my device like I was hoping? Please help, thanks.

welcome to the forums!

If youre trying to install software designed for Palm, you'll need a Palm OS device, like an older Treo or a Centro.
Palm software will not install to a Blackberry. The two platforms are very different.

Just to be clear, you're saying "Palm" type software will not work on this device?

That is correct. Just like Windows Mobile software won't work with the BlackBerry and visa versa.

OK. Thanks. I know it's kind of off topic, but are there any newer Smart "type" phones that allow such a thing. I know Breakerfall posted the "...older Treo or Centro", but was wondering about anything else. Thanks again.

maybe i shouldve said "older palm or (newer) centro"

centro is palms newest Palm OS device, but the palmos itself is dying out unless palm (the company) decides to update it big time.

verizons latest palm device is the treo 755p, and i believe theyre getting the centro...

to be honest, i wouldnt get to tied to palmos, tho
