If you've followed the steps in the sticky to a T, then you shouldn't go wrong.

You MUST have missed out something.

Go thru the cycle again...

How long have you been having your 8310, by the way..?

Hmm...it's a pretty much 'virgin' Curve...I'm surprised you would have memory problems...

Ok, give this a shot.

Why don't you try to uninstall both your DM's and your OS. Reload them again. DM first, OS next, remove vendor.xml file and plug in your device.

Other than this, there is really nothing more I can think of, dude..

Good luck

So, been living with this new OS 4.5.0.37 for 4 days now and it's pretty cool so far...

The ONLY gripe I would have, is that the alerts/tones, although much crisper and cleaner, are rather soft compared to the previous OS 4.2

The tones are softer, but they sound better...clearer and better quality than before...

Does anyone else feel the same way..?

The volume issue seems to have been fixed in later releases.

Can the battery overcharge? I charged my phone all night yesterday, and in the morning it died on me. It just shut off, and I had to remove the battery and put it back in and then it started. It hs full battery now, but can it overcharge? When I put it to charge every night, it will hvae around 60-70 battery and I leave it charged all night till I wake up the next morning.

16 minutes is a LONG time to wait, eh?

I only see one question. No, it can't overcharge. 100% is 100%. I charge mine all night almost every evening.

How are you trying to put the ringtones on?

This thread really isn't the place for this discussion... but anyway.

Media icon > Ringtones > highlight one > Menu > Move navigate to the Media Card and move it there. Repeat and repeat.

No, this for the 8310 ONLY.

That is why this thread is entitled:
Look at the STICKY NOTE in this 83xx section for the 8330.

Stickys are at the top of each forum and say "Attention" in red. They are called stickys because they are "stuck" at the top of each forum and don't move down the list as newer posts are added.

okay. After a few days of worrying, reading, and wondering I decided to give ths upgrade a go. So far everything is running smoothly. I followed JSander's instructions and right now am waiting for application modules to finish loading. Progress bars are moving smoothly and relatively quick...so far so good...fingers crossed. 1254

so apps all loaded. Now waiting for the connecting to device progress bar to move. Guess this is the nail biter part....the progress bar is moving ever soooooo slow. 1257

Well it's done...fell asleep so no idea when it was finished but i'd say about 1330. Playing with it now and seems pretty cool...now to wait and see if anything funny happens...

I just loaded this OS and my appointments are gone on the Today theme screen. Is there a fix for this?

Check that, it was the .75.

On your BB, go to Options > Advanced > Default Services. Select your email address there that has your calendar attached to it...

Roll Tide and check that search button up above...

Default New OS Eating Up Battery - 08-21-2008, 05:33 PM

I followed the instructions here and had no problems downloading and installing the OS 4.5. Battery life has been seriously reduced. I assume this has happened to others--if so are there any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Glad it works. However, this version isn't the latest. 4.5.0.55 is out for the 8310.

Thank you--is there link for the 4.5 055 that I can use---and I wonder if it solves the apparent battery life problem.

Wirelessly posted (8310; The Juggernaut)

No this thread is not dead.
Did you follow the directions exactly as posted & in the order as posted?
Remove the BlackBerry from the USB & reboot both the BlackBerry and your PC. Search your entire c: drive on the PC for the fike "vendor.xml" and delete any instance of it.
Plug the BlackBerry back into the USB, open DM again and if you get the upgrade alert.
