Does anyone actually know what causes the 507 error or the Unspecified error encountered [J:0x00000005]. I have seen both mentioned in the past but no one seems to really have a handle of what causes them. I guess another question would be has anyone successfully upgraded their ATT 8310 to any of the 4.5 builds? I get those errors whenever I try. Whether it be .37 or .42 yet I have no problem going back to any version of 4.2.

Everything's working good for me too!!! I thought html emails were supposed to work with 4.5. Am I mistaken?

I believe for HTML it requires not only the device software, but an update to the BIS if you are using that or a newer BES update

All works well on my Voda UK device, though there is some slight lagging in response to navigating up/down folders, compared to the previous 4.2.2.146.
Bizarrely, clicking "Open a file..." in Word To Go brings up that annoying "indise/outside firewall" error, whereas this works fine from Slideshow To Go! Needless to say, I've set all of the applications' default permissions to ALLOW.
Any idea why this is happenning?

You are correct. HTML rendering requires BIS 2.5, or BES 4.1.6 (or 4.1.5 with the enable HTML hack).

Day four with this OS with no real issues other than the occasional browser input one. ATT Navigator is actually functioning much faster. Love the video recording too.

Since I can't control the BES softare, can I control the BIS end of it?

Everything is still working fine for me except my Gmail app. Hoping another carrier's release of 4.5 will fix it. Until then, I just have Gmail forwarding my mail to my BB address and changed my BIS settings on the "reply to" to show my Gmail addy so no one gets my BB address and spams the hell out of it (and Gmail has the BEST spam filter).

Everything working well except TellMe. I uninstalled and when I tried to reinstall, got message saying they would notify me when available for my number. It worked fine before on 4.2. Anyone else had this problem? I tried search and came up with no results.

I had this problem not only with the Facebook app site but with other sites as well. All you need to do (at least this worked for me) is hit R for refresh or go to the menu and hit refresh and reload the page. After that it worked for me. I didn't have to disable any settings.

Hitting refresh is a good workaround, it just doesn't solve the issue for subsequent web page visits.

Well, I finally got 4.5 to load. Had to get off Vista to do it. I suspected that might have been my problem so if anybody else is getting 507s or "Unspecified error encountered [J:0x00000005]" errors and you are running Vista you might want to try another OS to install it from.

I installed 4.5 over the weekend and everything is working fine. I have noticed my battery draining much quicker. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Has anyone gotten Superpages Mobile (formally known as Infospace Find It!)to work? I've never used it before and I can't do anything with it. The program loads but I can't even change my location. It's like it's not using the internet or something. I used to use InfoSpace but they were bought out and I found Superpages at the InfoSpace site.

It is a known issue with 4.5...Hopefully it will be fixed when an official releas from BB comes out.

I'm using .42 and it happens with the VZ theme I have loaded but that didn't come with the OS. It doesn't happen with the O2 Zen theme which did come with the OS. Maybe just a coincidence.

Okay people, very dumb blonde here!! I thought I would try the 4.5 last night. So I clicked the link and it came on (in German) but I got it to start the download. After 2 hours (I still had 9 to go, slow dial up)I saw that I also had to upgrade the desk top and that down load was going to be waaay longer than the 11 hour one. Do I really have to do the desktop manager upgrade also to use the 4.5 Version? Also, one moree question, when the other 4.5 comes out I think you guys said the Rogers version, will there ever be a disk to buy with the upgrades on it? Thanks, Dot. Oh, I got the screen protector and it is wonderful, no more finger prints that smear the screen!!

Check again, i don't think it fixes that easy. Try going to brighter light with auto dim set to OFF. I't SHOULDN'T brighten your screen up.

I recently upgraded my 8310 and i am happy about the addition of the video camera. Unfortunately, the upgrade also wiped my configuration details for the browser.

I have a standard mobile contract with Orange UK. I used to be able to connect with GPRS/EDGE but now i can't get any mobile internet.

I have read posts and so far, the only way to get this corrected is by sending service books from the BIS. I don't have a full BB data plan so i am unable to do this.

Has anybody else experienced this problem and if so, have you found a 'workaround' instead of having to pay out for a full data plan.

Cheers

Sorry about your luck but the fix for me was as simple as what I explained. I tested it several different times in various light conditions. Sorry its not working for you but its working for me.

I have my brightness set to 100%, backlight timeout set to 30 seconds and dim set to off.

Theres the reason you can't see it.

Try the following.

Set your brightness to the lowest then try it. Before it wouldn't light up from the lowest light setting.

P.S. My reason is to save battery life by setting to lowest light setting.

Just tried it with the backlight set to 10% and it still seemed to work fine. Maybe it's just a problem with yours?

Well they did fix something... anyone with a numerical password, it takes it out of the NUM lock after you put in your password (for the regular lock).

But thats only if you hit "Unlock" and type it in. I usually just put it in number mode and start typing, now it goes off of the lock as soon as you type the first character.

Otherwise it works well... I had to reinstall Facebook, and I miss the old browser's "Go to" page. But its running fine!
